Harmony Central is a great web site for ALL kinds of musical and equipment information.
Looking for opinions or feedback the musical gear (equipment). Look no further than the gear page!
All Music is a GREAT resource for finding out information on bands including a brief history, members, discography, etc. Wondering how many different people recorded that song? This is a great place to start. Unfortunately, it now requires registration, but it is still free!

Mr. E’s: A good selection of sheet music and books. Their selection of instruments is pretty decent. Unfortunately, see the caution about Guitar Center below. I purchased some bass strings on clearance only to find out that someone had swapped one of the strings with a short scale string. Unless your merchandise is sealed, inspect it carefully.
Guitar Center: I need to include Guitar Center as they do carry a wide variety of instruments and are reasonably priced. HOWEVER, be careful with what you buy. A lot of items (effects, microphones, pre-amps, etc) may have been previously used. I prefer a sealed box.
Shopping Online:
Ed Roman’s: If you are looking for information on a brand of guitar, I guarantee Ed Roman has an opinion on it, and a very direct one at that.
Woodwind and Brasswind: Large selection and good prices and service. Service both school band instruments as well as guitar /bass / keyboard / etc. Great clearance specials!
Sweetwater: A GREAT place to shop online. Their prices are reasonable and they have quick delivery (usually free shipping).
JW Pepper: Great selection of sheet music. http://www.jwpepper.com/sheet-music/welcome.jsp
